Functionality
Subscribers can deliver faxes to the EMS system, which are stored and forwarded to the destination either at the same node (AMS) or a remote node (AMS) over the TCP/IP WAN network (Backbone), depending upon the destination fax number.
Features
1.a
Destination Transparency: Subscribers can submit fax to any destination (i.e. node or non-node destination) and the destination is transparent to the subscriber. The EMS System intelligently identifies the least cost node (in case of non-node destination), through which the job is to be completed by using the destination number.1.b
Retries Transparency: Subscribers are transparent to the number of retries to be made in case the job fails in attempts made. AMS's are configured for the number of retries to be made before the job is failed.1.c
Differed Delivery: Subscribers can specify the time on which that fax is to be delivered to the destination. This means that the delivery can be differed and the subscribers can benefit by differing delivery in the economy time slot.1.d
Upto 10 Point-to-Point or Broadcasts in one call: Subscribers can submit the same fax to upto 10 destinations in one call. Instead of destination fax number, broadcast list id can also be given for submitting the fax to the members of that broadcast list. In short, the DTMF string can have either the destination fax number or the broadcast list id, in any combination but not exceeding 10 fax numbers or list id's in one call.1.e
Internet Fax: Subscribers can also fax from their desktop using EMS client software. All the above features (1.a, 1.b, 1.c & 1.d) are also applicable for EMS Client. Also the feature 1.f (below) is applicable, but only difference is that the application resends the fax file along-with the destination information but there is no need for the subscriber to make a new fax file for the same document of any application.
1.e.b
Fax from any Desktop application: Subscribers can fax documents from any application (MS Word, MS Excel, PageMaker, CorelDraw, etc.). They have to select the EMS client printer driver and print the document and should have live Internet connection. The printer driver automatically makes the fax file and launches the EMS client application for taking the destination fax number details and submits the fax document.1.f
Resubmission of Job: Subscriber can resubmit a job (within its fax file preserve period - EMS system configurable period after which the fax files are deleted) to the same destination fax number or a new destination (point to point or broadcast).Using this feature same job can re-submitted and 'upto 10 destinations/broadcast lists' can be exceeded.
1.g
Resubmit To Failed Destinations Only: Subscribers have the choice to resubmit a job (having combination of point-to-point or broadcasts) to only the failed destinations of the job. Please note that a job cannot be resubmitted if the job status is pending.
1.h
Different Fax Number For Acknowledgement: Subscribers have the option for specifying the fax number on which the acknowledgement is to be sent. This fax number can be different from the number given in that subscriber's profile.1.i
Overriding Default Profile Priority: Subscribers can override their default profile and set the priority of the job so that the system can schedule the job accordingly.1.j
Overriding Default Profile: Subscribers can over-ride his default profile in any combination for the type of acknowledgement, cover page, tti's and journals required. (Details given latter, with their formats).1.k
Request Acknowledgement: If in the default profile of a subscriber acknowledgement is not set, he/she has the choice to request acknowledgement for the fax job he/she is submitting, without overriding his/her default profile.
Benefits
Faxing made simple for your Subscribers
Your subscriber does not have to worry & waste his valuable time in retrying to send his fax, during line failures, disconnection, busy signals, poor quality communication lines and other problems. The system ensures delivery by attempting
retries automatically.![]()
