Functionality
Subscribers can submit e-mail to the system mailbox (e.g. SP@SP.com, where SP represents Service Provider) with recipient fax number information and the mail body. The EMS system will identify the fax number and will deliver the e-mail to the specified fax number as a S & F fax. Subscribers can also attach text files with the e-mail to be delivered as a fax.

S & F Fax Service Features Applicability: All features (from 1.a to 1.k) of a S & F Fax are applicable for this service.3.b
DTMF String Format Supported: Standard DTMF string format is supported by this service and subscribers can specify mixed broadcast list ids within the DTMF string.3.c
Mixed Broadcast: Other indirect way of using this service is by submitting a mixed broadcast list via E-mail, wherein some of the members have fax numbers specified.3.d
Non-Subscriber Validity: A non-subscriber can submit a e-mail to fax to a subscriber provided the service provider (e.g. GT) has made separate mail boxes for each subscriber. Also the e-mail address specified by the sender should match with the mail box id (subscriber id) of the subscriber.Non-subscriber has to give an e-mail address of the subscriber (e.g. 53@SP.com) and the billing of the message will be to the subscriber with subscriber id as 53.

Mail Address Book Support: Subscribers can use any Internet Mail application, which is having address book facility (like MS Internet Mail, Netscape mail, MS Outlook, etc.), and specify the name of the recipient along-with DTMF string (in brackets) in the 'Name' field and the service e-mail address (SP's) in the e-mail field. This can only be done if the subscriber is having TCP/IP Internet account.3.f
Shell account / Non-Internet-Mail Support: Subscribers can also use Internet Shell account or any e-mail account of a e-mail service provider and specify the subject along-with the DTMF string (in brackets) in the 'Subject' field and the service e-mail address (SP's) in the 'To:' field.Please Note:
Subscribers also have the option of using this format of addressing even if they are using TCP/IP Internet account as they may not want to save the recipient's information in the address book.

Ease of use of media by your Subscribers
Subscribers can send e-mail messages to recipients who do not have access to Internet and these e-mail messages are delivered as faxes to the recipient's fax machine. Need for recipient to have an access to e-mail or Internet account is eliminated.

This service will automatically attract both, fax and e-mail subscribers, as the service provides an interface to interchange between the fast growing E-mail and Fax communication segments.
