OAZ Communications, Inc. was founded in 1987.

The first success was MCI awarding a million dollar contract for OAZ's XAFAX Telex to Fax Board in 1988. The first Fax/Graphics Board & the Document Manager, a document storage & retrieval product, were developed & delivered to OEM customers in 1988. OAZ received the second million dollar contract from MCI to develop the FaxManager board which had powerful Store & Forward features which enabled MCI to build Store & Forward Fax Servers.

In 1989, OAZ delivered the first end-user fax server product, the NetFax Manager. By 1990, a record 8 million faxes had been sent via OAZ product technology. Meanwhile, OAZ also received certification from Novell for the NetFax Manager Fax Board. In the same year, OAZ began working with AT&T and Sprint.

In 1990, AT&T awarded OAZ a contract to produce & deliver fax server technology custom designed for AT&T networks. This product, called the Document Director, had Group IV compression capability. OAZ simultaneously developed the NetFax Fax Server for LANs.

The first International X.25 Fax Store & Forward Network system was delivered to the Global Sprint Fax Service in 1992 which now spans over 20 countries. OAZ continues to deliver new systems to Sprint as this service grows.
