Compatibility - The system is fully compliant with CCITT T.4 and T.30 recommendations for Group 3 facsimile transmission.
Flexibility - In communicating different document types to and from different types of fax devices. The subscriber can directly connect from his desktop to the Advanced Media Server over Internet to fax out documents from any application using EMS Client installed on their machines. The server can send, receive and store upto 255 pages of facsimile data per document, per port.
Security - Once you open an account for a subscriber, he can access any server on the network universally. Each subscriber is assigned a unique subscriber ID for the system. Checking the subscriber ID first validates any access to the system. Further, each server has three levels of security for operating the system i.e. Administrator, Supervisor and Operator, each having different levels of access rights, to provide complete security.
Customizable Subscriber Profile - Each subscriber can assign a default profile, which consists of priority, service level, acknowledgment and cover page. The subscriber has the capability to over write the default profile when sending a fax to a server by the DTMF (Dual Tone Multiple Frequency) input string where, the subscriber can assign any combination of the options for a profile.

Configurable Subscriber Service types - Service Type information is an optional part of the DTMF input, which is received by the AMS from a Subscriber. The subscriber can specify the Service Type of a particular fax job. The three service types are:
Point-to-point fax to one or more fax numbers or broadcast list
Obtain a report of your broadcast list
Or status report (daily journal).
A subscriber can also assign feature options with these service types. The feature types are:
If the subscriber selects to receive an acknowledgment, the acknowledgment is sent to the subscriber irrespective of success or failure of a particular fax job.
The acknowledgment can be received at any other forwarding address other than the address registered in your subscriber profile.
The other feature options are Deferred Delivery, Delivery Time Limit, Delivery Notification, Forwarding Address and Daily Journal.
Complete Operator friendly environment - As the system has:

Graphical User Interface |
NT Operating System |
|
MS SQL Server database |
Local database for jobs |
|
Configuration through Registry |
TCP/IP interface |

Intelligent and Efficient System monitoring - The system has a real-time monitoring module, which monitors the system at the Port level (Fax Port Monitoring) and at the network level (WAN Monitoring).
Fax Port Monitoring - This has a Port Monitoring interface that lists the port status of all the fax ports in the server by the port number. It allows to monitor Port Number, Line State whether Onhook or Offhook, Status, Number Called, CSID, Start/End Time, and Last Error. It also displays graphically the configuration of the fax port as inbound or outbound. The Onhook and Offhook of a port are represented by a telephone handset, which is also displayed graphically.
WAN Monitoring - All the activity on the WAN can be monitored at the WAN Monitor Screen, which displays port status of all the WAN ports in the AMS listed by port number. It allows monitoring Port Number, Line Status, Destination Address (Destination AMS), Job ID, Start/End Time and Last Error. The WAN ports can be configured as inbound or outbound.
Also, the system software automatically generates graphical representation of critical data required for monitoring the system, by manipulating the SQL database in an intelligent manner. The reports show information such as:
|
Query report |
Port statistics |
Port utilization |
|
Port utilization - Failure statistics |
Attempt analysis |
Job statistics |
|
Q-time analysis |
AMS usage |
Subscriber usage |
Highly Efficient & Cost Effective System - As the system has:

Capacities and Limitations
Transactions
There is no theoretical limit to number of records the system can handle. Current limit (based upon disk space) is approximately 6 months storage, based on an average of 15,000 faxes per day.
Further, cascading a number of servers at one site in a Master-Slave configuration can expand the system with no limit. Sophistication of the system design allows Master to take care of transactions administration and control of Slave resources, while the Slaves are only responsible for low level operations of sending/receiving fax-voice. This boosts the ease of operation and moreover the flexibility of the system to cope with heavy traffic conditions.
Subscribers
There is no limit to the number of subscribers that can be supported by the GMS. Again, it is a function of the available disk space. With the available space in a standard configuration, about 200,000 to 300,000 subscribers can be supported.
